I'ts about 11pm last night and I'm sleeping and all of a sudden I feel something under the sheets crawling on my leg. I fling my covers off and jump out of bed tried to find whatever the hell it is. I move the covers around I'm searching. Finally I see this June Bug crawling on one of the pillows on the bed. I grabbed some toilet paper, grabbed the June Bug and down the toilet it went. I know, they don't do any harm but when you wake up from a nice sleep with a scratchy crawly thing under the sheets with you I'd like to know what you'll do....
Now when I did this I definitely woke M&M with a start. I had to let her know that it was okay. I didn't have to worry about waking Mr. M because he wasn't even at home. Where was he you ask?
--------------------------
Mr. M is officially on vacation for a week. He left today for Chicago to spend about 5 days with his buddies he used to cook with and they're all going on a canoe trip. So Mr. M got an early start to his vacation by leaving work at about 1pm Friday to meet with his friend to watch a movie at the local Movie Tavern. I found out that his friends brother-in-law was there as well, I like them both so it's okay.
Movie started at 3pm, they all met at about 2pm to get a start on the beer. When Mr. M came home before the movies he went ahead and put M&M outside because it wasn't raining. When I got home about 3:30 or so M&M had escaped. again. I did finally get her back (lady found her and was boarding her in her vet's office as she was getting ready to go out of town. I wonder if dog's have 9 lives like cats?) While Mr. M is watching the movie I also take care of getting our internet and phones back on (they had gone out Thursday night - same provider).
I guess the moview was over around 5:30ish or so but Mr. M wanted to still hang out for about another hour because he's on vacation and it's pouring rain so he doesn't really want to drive yet. Ok, no problem but don't forget your flight leaves at 6am and you haven't packed yet!
About 2 hours later (so about 7:30/8pm) I check on him and they are out at a pool hall. Mr. M asks if I'm upset. Well I'm a little miffed. It's the last night you're home before you go out of town for 5 days and your out with your friends instead of at home with me. He says he'll be home in 10 minutes and hangs up.
30 minutes later he calls back so we can talk. He's really having a good time and would really like to stay out. He's on vacation and he doesn't feel like it. Fine, stay out and have a good time. I still don't have your flight information for myself and he gives me his email account info to find it. I remind him that he leaves at 6am and you haven't packed yet.
I do discover that his flight is closer to 7am but still he's not home and he hasn't packed.
I go to bed around 10pm, try to call him to let him know. He calls around 11pm to say they're going to get something to eat then he'll be home. June bug incident happens. Mr. M gets home about 11:45 and all of a sudden realizes he has to get up in a few hours to be at the airport in time for his flight and he hasn't packed! Really? Shock to me. He's all upset because he didn't make the right decisions (yep) He should have come home earlier to take care of his packing (yep) He should have been home with me (yep). Of course all the yep's were internal. He apologizes. But he decides he would like to go to bed now because he's tired and half drunk. No problem with me. Only thing I have to do is get up and take you to the airport and go back to bed.
Luckily he goes to sleep quickly. Unluckily it starts thundering real bad outside and M&M is ancy. I kick her out of the bedroom.
The alarm goes off so early - 3:30am. I get dressed. Of course Mr. M is tired and a little concerned about packing. Luckily he did wash everything he needed on Thursday so it was basically thought out. Of course I help out in the packing.
Now the second adventure is whether or not his plane will actually leave on time as DFW airport has been backed up for days now with all the rain. He got lucky that they were kind of caught up now. Of course I didn't tell him as we were driving to the airport that his first flight of two today is on one of those peddal pushers. He did learn this at the airport.
His flight got out on time. He made it to his final destination and now on his way to his friends. I hope he enjoys his 5 days of vacation.

Fun Quote
If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?
----------------------------
I've been away for about a week, not really away just not at my desk. Well it's raining - again - and my cable is out so I figured I'd play catch up. Got a few blogs I need to visit, maybe say a few words of my own...
----------------------------
Speaking of cats above, C-Girl has been very interesting lately. All weekend she has been sitting in my lap. Okay, this cat is not my "lovable" cat, she's my talker. But everytime I sat down she'd crawl up in my lap, clean herself, curl up and sleep. When I got home today I was sitting in front of the tv (before we lost it) she crawled up in my lap. Just funny.
----------------------------
Man oh man I had way too many adult beverages on Friday night. I had a recipe for a yummy martini I had at a restaraunt a few months back and brought it with me. Well they said they could make it but it was gonna cost like $20 or something crazy. So we downsized. I had about 4-5 martinis on Friday.... I don't drink like that. When we got home (luckily this is one of those nights that Mr. M did not get toasted) I did pray a bit to the porcelein god {here's a funny story... when we moved in I noticed that our toilets are called "church", so I'm literly praying to the porcelein god... hee hee} Anywho, Mr. M helped me out of my clothes and into bed.
I woke up about 6:30 in the morning because M&M needed to go out so I stumble downstairs and let her out. I grab a midol and drink some gatorade. I stumble back upstairs to bed... I was still swirling and all that activity made me hot. I literly wasted my Saturday because of Friday night.
Well that happens to me maybe once a year so I guess I'm good.

Congratulations Mr. M!
Mr. M found out today that he received his new title that he's been wanting.
Luckily he'll receive a slight raise to help support his addiction to Red Bull. :-)

Prayers for Fallen Firefighters
I just read the story on MSN about the 9 firefighters killed fighting a fire in South Carolina.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of their friends and families and to the remaining firefighters who lived and worked closely with them.

Well Wishes!
I'd like to present a few well wishes to a couple of people. Seemingly enough they both involve jobs.
The first one goes to my hubby, Mr. M. He chatted with his boss today about his current position, the title and monetary value does not reflect the responsibilities that he handles. Mr M's boss knew full well that he's been looking for other jobs and has gone on several interviews as he point blank asked him how the search was going. Well it seems Mr. Boss Man agrees with Mr. M and will work on assisting him. The Executive who can approve such a thing is out this week on business so we won't know till next week. So my wish to him is that his request finally happens and that it makes him happy!
My second well wish goes to my best friend, Queen Paula. She too is looking for a new job. The company she works at is not bad and she likes most of the people there. Have you heard the saying, "most people leave their jobs because of their manager not the company"? It applies here. She interviewed for another company recently and I'm hoping that they will call her real soon to let her know she's been hired. She really deserves to not be hassled like she has been in her current job. From what she tells me she really cares about what she does and someone deserves to snatch her up that cares about what she's doing. Good luck Pau Pau!
Oh and Happy Birthday to Lara this Saturday! I hope you have a great day all planned with Aussie Boy! ;-)

Let the Shedding begin!
Well M&M is shedding immensly now. I guess it's for the summer. At least it's not like the last time, although time will tell. Although I'm actually wondering why it's not like the last time. From the research I did on husky's they don't usually shed.
I guess I can't complain, she's not leaving chunks of hair everywhere. And we do try to brush her while we're outside. It looks like snow on the ground. :-)
I did a major vacuum of the downstairs over the weekend, including the sofas and pillows in the living room. I washed the throw blankets, mostly to get the cat hair off it and the sofas. I try to keep everything "covered" when we're not in there so if the cats do lay down on them the hair won't get all over the sofas and then all over us. We'll see how long this lasts.

Riddle
Mr. M likes to play computer games. His latest is an on-line Lord of the Rings game. In this game he sometimes must solve riddles. Well he came to one that he wanted help on. I love things like this so helped him - and got it right!
So I figured I'd post the riddle and see if you too can get it. I'll let it sit out here for about a week or so and then I'll give the answer. Post your answers in my comments section. :-)
You have 4 items that must be put in order: Axe, jewel, moon and sun.
Here are your clues:

You have 4 items that must be put in order: Axe, jewel, moon and sun.
Here are your clues:
- axe bites deep before 1st of sun
- sun rises after the moon sets
- jewel found in light of sun
- jewels only found after hard work
- before all else the silvery light of the moon is seen
Good luck!
Update as of June 14, 2007:
Okay, it's time for the answer. I'll put it in the Comments field just in case others come along and decide they would like to play! :-)

Those were the biggest balls I've ever seen!
I'd have to say there was something wrong with them. Ok, I'm talking about dog balls. I took M&M to the dog park and there was this poodle looking dog, but it was taller than most poodles, and I turned around and those puppies were just swinging around.
That dog had to of been in pain. They were the size of 2 fists put together and so red. Seriously I think there was something wrong with them and I wanted to ask the owner but didn't think it my place.
Catchy title though huh? :-) I'm hoping to make Lara's Sunday Google-age because they crack me up.

Paris Released!
OMG!!!! WHAT????
From CNN:
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Paris Hilton was let out of jail Thursday morning, just three days after she began serving what was originally to have been a 45-day sentence for violating probation, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said at a press conference.
Hilton must wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at her home for another 40 days, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Medical considerations "played a part" in the decision to offer Hilton home confinement for the remainder of her sentence, Whitmore said.
He said privacy rules prohibited him from giving details about the medical issues, but celebrity Web site TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying Hilton was refusing to eat much of the jail food served her.
You've got to be kidding me!! What medical condition? Stardom? Stop being a baby and serve your time!!! Ridiculous!!!!

Pot Pourie
I just realized that I'm only 23 posts away from hitting the 100 mark! So let the countdown begin! :-)
A few weeks ago Mr. M decided he wanted to make cookies from scratch (did I post this already? Oh well) I prefer the already made store bought kind so I can just eat the dough. We didn't have any real butter on hand so Mr. M decided to use the non-butter we have. Yeah as you can imagine it just didn't taste the same, we threw it away. But he did make one heck of a big cookie.
I planted some flowers last year that never bloomed. I actually gave up on them. Seems that they were still thriving in the pot and with all the rain and everything. Aren't they pretty?
Unfortunately I have a crack in my bird feeder so all that rain keeps getting in to the seed. And well now it seems that I'm growing plants inside my feeder. It's actually kind of gross. I wonder what the birds think. I did clean it out today before putting more feed in.
Our little C-Girl really loves boxes. Boxes of any kind. We were putting our waters in the fridge the other day and Mr. M threw the box down on the floor and C-Girl got right in it. So he put it up on the chair that she's kind of adopted and she's there all day and night.
Our other cat just loves the outside. When we get home she thinks it's her time to go outside while the dog comes in. We have a little system, Poo stands to the right of us as we open the door, M&M comes running in, we stand to the left and Poo swishes out. If she gets out there while there is still sun on the patio she'll roll over onto her back with her belly in the air. She'll lay like that for several minutes. But she's smart, if the sun is still out and she gets a little hot she'll find the shade that the chair makes and lay in it. If it's later in the evening you'll usually find her up in "her" chair and she'll stay there all night till we make her come in. Right now I'm having to watch her because I've got her and M&M outside. Not really a good combination, but they seem to behaving themselves so far.
Well I think I shall go now and do some reading. I figure I'll read a little and go to bed before 11 for a change. And maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get lucky.... ;-)
Well tonights post will be a handful of different topics. Things I've been meaning to put out but haven't, let's get started.
We'll start with the latest celebrity gossip. Paris Hilton is finally in jail! And speaking of countdowns I really hope that we are not subjected to one till her release date. "Lawyers said that her first night went well, only 22 nights to go". Who cares?
I love to watch Entertainment Tonight and today they had an "article" over Prince Harry getting tired of all the rumors that he is not Prince Charle's son. WHAT?!?! This is the first I've ever heard this "rumor". Harry says that he's willing to take a paternity test to prove it once and for all but of course the "family" won't allow it. That's sad to think he'll have to live with that all his life. I bet it's being talked about even more this year on the 10 year anniversary of Di's death. Oh and I was really hoping that Prince William was going to propose to his long time girlfriend, they seemed to really be in love. I hope he doesn't end up marrying someone else but always thinking of her...

I'm on the 3rd book of the Little House on the Prairie series that I borrowed from my sister. I'm really enjoying it and going through them very quickly.

Pet Peeve - Motorcyclists
I had a fantastic weekend which I'll post about later but I wanted to do a quick post before bed.
Not that everyone who rides a motorcycle does this, but those that do irritate me. What I'm talking about are those impatient ones who think they're better than everyone. When in rush hour traffic where everyone is in stop and go traffic and they feel the need to ride in between everyone. And they wonder why we don't "look out for them". Sorry didn't think to look between me and the car right next to me to see if someone on a motorcycle was coming.
These people irritate me.
